Details to the news published regarding the subsidiary Cementir Italia

Rome, 28 September 2017 – In relation to the news published today concerning the ongoing investigation by the Prosecutor’s Office of Lecce on an alleged "illicit waste traffic", Cementir Holding informs that the subsidiary Cementir Italia, owner of the Taranto plant, has claimed in a note the correctness of its work and expressed full confidence in the work of the prosecutors, hoping in a quick solution.

Cementir Italia noted that it has regularly purchased fly ashes for the Taranto plant, whose use, however marginal, completely ceased at the beginning of 2016. As for the sludge, its use in cement production is authorized by an Integrated Environmental Authorization, which Cementir Italia has always adhered to. Cementir Italia will co-operate with the investigating authority and will protect its interests before courts if it has been proved that the material supplied by third parties is not in compliance with the law.
